About PTC Dragons
Brief History:
The club was founded in 2025 as an independent non-profit organization headquartered in Peachtree City, in Fayette County, Georgia. The idea for a Dragon Boat Club was sown just a few years prior from the local Peachtree City Dragon Boat festival that was held annually each September.
Here on the fourth (4th) Saturday of the month of September, local teams would assemble along with experienced teams from out of state and they would compete in 200m sprint races. Highlighted within this festival were a Corporate Cup challenge race and a Paradragon race that featured the community’s best from both.
However this local talent was on display just once a year with minimal practices to hone individual and team paddling skills. A year-round club was proposed so that those needs could be served and to offer additional benefits; such as year-round fitness, teamwork development and club fellowship.
Currently there is a club group of 20+ interested paddlers (and growing) with all levels of abilities, ages, experience, and some physical challenges that are united in a common goal, to represent our community on a recreational and competitive level.
Mission Statement:
To advance the physical wellness and mental wellbeing among our club members through the sport of dragon boating in a collective, spirited, and inclusive teamwork environment; regardless of age, gender, paddling ability, experience, or challenges and limitations.
